📊 Information We Collect
Depending on how you use CarGuessr, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Gameplay data: Your quiz answers, scores, XP points, streaks, and in-game achievements — stored locally on your device and, if you opt in, in the cloud.
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version — used purely for debugging and crash reporting.
- Anonymous analytics: Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics (e.g., which game modes are most popular) to help us improve the app.
- Push notification token: Only if you grant notification permissions, used to send daily challenge reminders.
CarGuessr does not require you to create an account to play. The core game works fully offline without transmitting any data.
🎯 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect exclusively to:
- Operate and improve CarGuessr's features and performance
- Track your progress, streaks, XP, and achievements
- Send daily challenge reminders (only with your explicit permission)
- Diagnose and fix technical issues and crashes
- Understand aggregate usage trends to guide product decisions
We do not use your data for advertising profiling, and we do not share it with third-party advertising networks.
🤝 Third-Party Services
CarGuessr uses a limited set of trusted third-party services:

- Apple App Store / Google Play Store: Facilitates download and optional in-app purchases. Subject to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.

🌍 Data Storage & Transfers
Gameplay data is stored primarily on your device. If cloud sync is enabled, data may be stored on servers within or outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Any international data transfers are carried out with appropriate safeguards in accordance with GDPR.
👶 Children's Privacy
CarGuessr is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction). The app does not require account creation. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
